JACKIES CARD

my friend erica's mother has been recently diagnosed with bladder cancer.  she has recently had a tumor removed from her liver and has a long road to recovery ahead of her.  i made a special card for her with this inside:

what cancer cannot do:
it cannot cripple love
it cannot shatter hope
it cannot corrode faith
it cannot destroy peace
it cannot kill friendship
it cannot suppress memories
it cannot silence courage
it cannot invade the soul
it cannot steal eternal life
it cannot conquer the spirit

lets hope the love and friendship she has, helps her beat this ugly cancer.  good luck jackie.  my prayers are with you!

100 + Cricut Cartridges Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog.  I haven't been here long and am just learning the ropes.  I hope you enjoy what you see and stop back again to see what's new!  You should have just left Julies blog. If for some reason you didn't, you can start back at Ericas: http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com
Here are my entries for the Hop.  I hope you enjoy them!
CHERRY LIMEADE
I chose this theme simply because....'i love summer'!  papers used: DCWV-doodlin around, various scrap pieces.  card base is  3 3/4" x 8 1/2" folded.  inks used: RANGER-shabby shutters-rusty hinge.  Bee is SIZZIX-sizzlets called garden creatures, with a little doodling of my own for his flight trail.  Sun: 5 star from the same cartridge, cut twice @ 3" then layered alternately for double rays.  i cut the circle @ 3" and embossed with sizzlet heart by SIZZIX.  Lemonade and layers all cut @ 3 1/2" and Summertime cut @ 1".  a little bling from my stash and there you have it.

DUDE

this is a standard A-2 which the card base is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  i get a lot of teens that browse my cards when i set up at craft bazaars.  so this cart was first on my list when the 'lite' carts first came out.  extreme is cut at 1 3/4" using the shadow feature.  the 'dude-skater' is cut at 3 1/4" with layers.  paper used was just some of my stash but the background paper is from DCWV-high school.  the black mat is 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".  the patterned paper is matted at 4" x 5 1/4".  i tore a pc. of corkboard for the ground and the border is a chain punch by EK.  i inked the matted paper with RANGER-black soot.  a few metal dots for bling and that finished the card.  i hope you like it.

LIFE IS A BEACH

i chose this cart and this layout for its' simplicity.  sometimes you really want something quick but don't want a lot of 'stuff' on your page.  with this layout, i let the paper work for me.  made a few simple cuts and that was it!  DCWV-doodlin around.  palm tree is cut @ 5 3/4" (i love this tree).  hawaii is cut @2 1/2" with layers.  i cut the layers 4 times in 3 colors using green, orange, yellow, red.  again, just pcs. of my stash of papers.  the mats for pictures are 4" x 5 1/2" (red), 3 1/2" x 5" (yellow) and 3" x 4 1/2" (white)  all cut twice for 2 pictures.  wonder why there aren't any pictures?  hmmm, i'm still waiting for that trip to Hawaii!  this layout took me less than 2 hrs to put together.  i like it, and hope you do too.  mabye we'll get some pictures for it soon?

thank you very much for visiting.  i hope you're having a good time with this hop, i know there are a lot of talented ladies as excited as me to be designing for Erica.  your next stop is:
